HIV/AIDS Awareness

I attended a symposium last friday about Hiv/Aids and Sti Awareness. The speaker is a nurse? Or doctor perhaps? :)) i totally forgot. Haha. She's from the City Health of Albay. Someone told me that check-ups are free there. 'Cause it's a public clinic i think. And alot of prostitutes go there to have their monthly check-ups. For pap smears and check for other acquired illness. They even have a card with them, and it has colors and signs on it, parang mark.

And so, back to hiv and aids..

They informed us about the increasing number of people who have aids. Philippines were included on the list of the countries na may patuloy na tumataas na aids population. Number 1 ang Africa i think, sunod na ang ibang foreign countries. At sa loob nang pilipinas, by Region, ang NCR (national capital region) ang may pinaka maraming may aids. Sunod na ang bicol. And sunod ang ibang regions.

Sa BICOL, number 1 ang legazpi sa may pinaka mataas na number nang tao na may Aids. Nakaka-shock talaga. Alam mo yung fear na mafifeel mo, na malaman na isa ang tinitirahan mo sa may mga taong may aids. At nakapalibot lang sila sayo. Sunod na yung tabaco, tiwi daraga, etc.

While i was listening dun sa speaker, nangingilabot ako kasi di ko maisip na hindi na pala safe ang legazpi for sexual partners. And yung mga taong yun, yung hindi pa nakikita sa result na may aids sila e nakaka hawa na pala sila and they don't even know it. Pano kung mga past partner nila, e naging partner mo? ano gagawin mo? Just try to think of it. And yes, the only solution is to abstain from sex, and say no to sex daw.

Hindi naman dapat kadirian yung taong may aids. Kasi it's the illness na nakakahawa, not the tao. And it's frustrating na hanggang ngayon e wala pang gamot for aids. There may be medicines to strengthen the person with aids but it won't help him for a lifetime.

Pano na kaya in the future? So lahat nang tao magkaka aids na? So yun na lang ang reason how people will die? Ang saklap.

I'd rather stay single for life, no sex i know. But atleast i will live my life to the fullest. :)
